Our history
1988-1989
1980's
During the recession of 1988–1989, Blackman Construction, a company with which Brian works closely through Aggregates & Minerals Ltd, ceases trading. The closure presents Brian with the opportunity to establish his own construction company, laying the foundations for what becomes RHOS Construction.
Brian Chenoweth establishes Aggregates & Minerals Ltd, supplying aggregates and materials to construction companies throughout the region and building strong industry relationships that shape the future of the business.
The company initially operates as a subcontractor, delivering earthworks, aggregate supply and infrastructure projects. One of its earliest major projects is the Par Sewage Treatment Works, helping to establish RHOS Construction's reputation for reliability, technical expertise and high-quality delivery.
RHOS Construction is formally incorporated by Brian Chenoweth on 27 March 1996, marking the beginning of the company's journey as builders in Cornwall and a dedicated construction contractor.

RHOSNOWETH Developments Ltd is incorporated as a subsidiary of RHOS Construction to manage the company's growing development activities. RHOSNOWETH acquires and manages development land, while RHOS Construction delivers the house-building projects, creating an integrated construction and development business.
Building on this success, RHOS Construction expands into delivering projects as a main contractor, establishing a strong reputation for successfully managing and delivering high-quality construction projects across a wide range of sectors, and develops into the construction company it is today.
Julian Chenoweth and Simon Chenoweth aquire ownership of RHOS Construction and RHOSNOWETH Developments from Brian Chenoweth, ensuring the continuation of the family business and its commitment to quality, integrity and long-term investment in the region.
